Smith Sovik Expands its Downstate Office and Welcomes Elizabeth E. Schlissel, Esq. as an Associate

Smith Sovik has expanded its Downstate Office with the addition of Associate Elizabeth E. Schlissel.

Elizabeth joins Smith Sovik after serving as an Assistant District Attorney with the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office. As an Assistant District Attorney, Elizabeth tried nine cases to verdict and most recently was assigned to the Appeals Bureau/Mental Health Unit where she handled appellate work for other bureaus within the office, as well as a caseload of felony cases where the defendant suffered from mental illness and worked with the New York State Attorney General’s Office at retention conferences, hearings and trials.

Elizabeth is a 2009 graduate of Hofstra University School of Law where she was a member of the Mock Trial Team and participated in the National Trial Competition. While in law school, she also was a legal intern with Hon. Dorothy Eisenberg, United States Bankruptcy Court, EDNY, and Hon. Leonard B. Austin, J.S.C.

Elizabeth will be based out of our Downstate Office and will be handling all areas of litigation including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, Labor Law, professional malpractice and negligence claims.
