Ken is a partner in Smith Sovik’s Long Island office and is a proven trial attorney. Ken has extensive experience handling a broad spectrum of cases from inception to verdict in state and federal courts throughout the Downstate area. Ken formerly served as senior trial counsel for three insurance defense firms and was of counsel to several Metropolitan New York area firms. He has also served as trial counsel for a major supermarket chain. Ken spends most of his time defending construction, premises liability, motor vehicle, trucking and products liability cases. Ken has represented a broad range of clients including municipalities, universities, school districts, commercial property owners, managers and developers, construction companies, hotels, manufacturers and distributors and numerous other industrial, commercial and retail businesses.
Ken has excellent litigation training and experience with an outstanding record of success. He is an alumnus of and has lectured for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He has lectured and written on assorted litigation and liability topics for the New York State Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association and several insurance companies. Ken formerly served as the Chairman of the Construction & Surety Law Division of the Torts, Insurance & Compensation Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. He has also served as a Moot Court Judge at Hofstra University Law School.
