Hulslander Wins Another Psychiatric Malpractice Case

Kevin Hulslander recently obtained summary judgment from a Tompkins County judge in a vigorously contested psychiatric malpractice case, adding to a long line of wins for professionals he has defended.  In this case, a prominent veterinary college/hospital released a veterinary resident from its program after the resident’s psychiatrist revealed her behavior had been deteriorating.  Plaintiff sued the psychiatrist claiming malpractice and breach of confidentiality.  The Court dismissed the case finding Plaintiff’s claims were speculative because the institution had already witnessed Plaintiff’s erratic behavior and that any breach of confidentiality did not cause Plaintiff any damage.
