Tom DeBernardis has successfully defended cases medical malpractice, labor law, premises liability, negligent security, products liability, and auto accident cases. DeBernardis has successfully argued before the trial and appellate courts and has consistently won summary judgment and secured trial and appellate victories all over New York State.
A lifelong Central New Yorker, DeBernardis is a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law where he was an Executive Board Member of the National Moot Court Honor Society and a member of the National Trial Team. DeBernardis was a member of the American Association for Justice Trial Team that won the Northeast Regional Championship in 2017 and 2018, and placed fifth in the nation at the 2018 national finals. DeBernardis received CALI awards for the highest overall performance in Appellate Advocacy, and for his work as a law clerk in the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office. While in law school, Tom also clerked in the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York where he assisted federal prosecutors on a major synthetic drug conspiracy trial.
Tom focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury, labor law, motor vehicle and premises liability, and medical malpractice defense.
